Louisville, KY (September 14, 2012)—Twenty of the city’s most successful women participated in a set of focus groups centered around their company’s women’s groups where they shared ideas on which initiatives were successful and which were less so. Two of the most successful actions among the companies were discovered to be mentoring programs and sessions to share work and professional experience. Not so successful initiatives were revealed to be the development of metrics to demonstrate results, and non-salaried employee involvement. Common themes for the future were getting and keeping executive support, obtaining active sponsorship, and expanding mentoring programs.
